Manuscript, in a single hand, of a collection of verse extracts and miscellaneous facts, on primarily secular subjects. The first 8 pages contain single-stanza excerpts of poems, including those of William Aytoun's Blind Old Milton, William Collins' How Sleep the Brave, and Francis Beaumont's Knight of the Burning Pestle, as well as ditties on sewing, drinking, and war. The remainder of the volume is devoted to brief notes, anecdotes, and quotations on an idiosyncratic collection of subjects, arranged alphabetically. Under "Name," for example, the author writes, "Malherbe wrote Maleherbe, Malherble, Malerbe, Malherbe, de Malherbe"; under "oil," he notes, "A charm to still the waves. Erasmus' Colloquies."
